Frequently Asked Questions

Can you tell me more about your background?

I was born and raised in Poland and moved to the United States at the age of 17. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification from Arizona State University in 2017. My passion for advancing my clinical expertise led me to complete an Emergency Medicine Fellowship at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2019, becoming a Certified Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP). Over the years, I have practiced in New York and Florida in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and concierge medical practices. In 2023, I expanded my expertise into psychiatric mental health and became a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) after completing my psychiatric education at Wilkes University.

I have always embraced a holistic approach to treatment, recognizing that medical conditions can sometimes mimic psychiatric symptoms—something that is often overlooked in conventional psychiatry. To enhance my ability to treat patients comprehensively, I pursued an Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship, where I learned how to apply both conventional and functional medicine principles to mental health care.

My approach to integrative psychiatry is deeply personal. Living with Type 1 Diabetes and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, I have firsthand experience of the profound impact chronic illness can have on mental well-being. This journey has strengthened my conviction that the mind and body are inseparable and that mental health care must reflect this connection.

In my practice I consider the impact of environment, lifestyle, and medical conditions on mental health. My goal is to ensure that patients feel heard, not rushed, and to collaborate with them in decision-making to develop a treatment plan that aligns with their values and needs.

Do you prescribe medications?

Yes, I prescribe medication when necessary. However, I take a personalized approach, ensuring that medications are used only when clinically appropriate. I also explore other treatment options, such as nutritional supplements, mind-body practices, therapy, and lifestyle modifications, to support long-term mental well-being. I do not prescribe controlled substances at this time.
